>Using Groupon To Sell More Concert Tickets

image from www.welovedc.com Online service Groupon offers locally based discounts which only go into effect if a specific number agree to participate. If 50 people sign up to buy, for example, a pizza for 50% off on Friday from Pure Prairie Pizzeria, the price drops to $5. If only 49 sign up, the discount isn’t valid; so buyers are encouraged to tell their friends about the deal.

At last week’s Billboard Touring Conference a Groupon representative explained several of the companies music iintiatiives and why the service is well suited to help sell more tickets.
